Al Decker
Mr. Decker is a recognized authority on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Information Security and Privacy, and Internal Controls with more than 30 years experience, both in private industry and public accounting as well as serving as an outside director of a private company. He has delivered and managed services in such areas as internal controls, system implementation, security audits, and training for companies worldwide. Over the past 20 years he has inspired and built four multifaceted, professional security-service organizations and been the CEO of a professional services company he founded.
Mr. Decker was the founder and CEO of Fiderus - the first company in the world to focus entirely on services and solutions for security and privacy. In addition to founding Fiderus, Mr. Decker served as the worldwide director of Security and Privacy services for EDS and IBM. He was also a Partner at Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P. (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), where he served as the National Partner-in-charge of IT Security Services and the National Director of IT Assurance Services, where he was responsible for all aspects of computer controls including those for IT operations, system and application development and security.
Author, speaker and pundit, Mr. Decker is frequently quoted in leading business and trade publications, including Business Week, Information Week and The New York Times as well as appearing on CNN on the topic. He lectures frequently on ERM, network security, computer fraud, computer viruses and other security and audit-related subjects for groups such as the AICPA, FEI, EDP Auditors Association, the Computer Security Institute, the Institute of Internal Auditors and various industry associations. Mr. Decker was a member of the Computer Audit Subcommittee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
